Filmwala Pictures announced on Wednesday that
they will release their debut production ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ in Pakistan in
August, 2014.
Directed by Nabeel Qureshi (‘BNN’, Pandora, The
President), ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ tells the story of three protagonists and their
irony of life in the most amusing way.
The film is produced by Fizza Ali Meerza under
her company Filmwala Pictures. Qureshi’s prestigious cast includes Javed
Sheikh, Fahad Mustafa, Mohsin Abbass Haider, Salman Shahid, Urwa Hocane and
British actress Kubra Khan. Mehwish Hayat will also make an appearance in the
much-awaited film, in a totally new avatar, which will include a thrilling and
jaw-dropping dance number, which is already setting trends and echoing in the
masses. The film was co-written by Qureshi and Meerza and the cinematographer

maloom afraad through their film, which is a true entertainment package for the
audience at large with numerous ironic twists and turns. The word “Na Maloom
Afraad” is in news almost every day in our country, however, the makers of the
film have interpreted it differently by adding humour, fun and paradox in the
daily lives of the characters in the movie thus making it a true social comedy
thriller.
Sharing his thoughts, Qureshi said, “The
backbone of this film is the original script and content. The intervening plots
and overlapping situations shall gratify the audiences in the most amusing and
humorous way. The story line is very close to the lives of the people living in
Pakistan particularly Karachi and the film has been shot mostly in the old
areas of this metropolitan city. This film has a number of songs amongst them the
thematic song of the movie has been sung by Sajjad Ali. This is the first
Pakistani film completely shot on state-of-the-art camera Arri Alexa. The film
at the moment is in post-production and the trailers shall soon be seen on
different TV channels.”
The makers of the film claim that ‘Na Maloom
Afraad’ will set new trends and standards for the upcoming movies in the
emerging Pakistani film industry. The growth of Pakistani cinema is opening up
new horizons for the filmmakers, which shall give a boost to the industry in
its transitional phase. Meerza and Qureshi feel more of such films shall be
made to provide entertainment to the masses as there is yet a lot to explore in
the industry and that the people are ardent to see more of Pakistani
entertainment than any other.
